Main purpose of the position

  • To plan, lead, manage and co-ordinate the Corporate Credit Control and Revenue Management Function. The role formulates and provides advice on effective implementation of policies, practices and systems in the area of credit, billing, consolidation, customer information system, sales forecasts, sales audits, accounts, vendor relationships and revenue collection with the goal of maximizing the Corporation's revenue and Collection.

Job Responsibilities

  • Sells complex/customized products and services to significant customers and/or manages a Revenue and Credit Control department to achieve sales targets over a significant area
  • Uncovers emerging issues and/or needs and identifies potential causes, related issues, key stakeholders and barriers.
  • Takes responsibility for developing and delivering a key element of the organization's data management system.
  • Manages the development and/or delivery of an element of the organization's strategic planning.
  • Develops innovative solutions by integrating, analysing and interpreting complex and diverse information sources.
  • Delivers own prescribed outcomes and/or provides support services by using the organization's safety, health and environment systems and protocols.
  • Manages a significant operational area for the organization.
  • Delivers prescribed outcomes for area of responsibility by working within established knowledge management systems.
  • Identifies shortcomings, then suggests and implements improvements to existing business practices, while developing and delivering projects or a work stream within the organization's change management program with guidance from senior colleagues.
  • Manages and delivers required outcomes for a portfolio of contracts and negotiates service level agreements while planning, coordinating and supervising activities related to major contracts.
  • Provides input into the development of compliance policies, develops underlying procedures and monitors their implementation for area of responsibility within the organization
  • Manages key client and customer relationships, typically by using account teams to ensure their ongoing satisfaction and loyalty toward the organization.
  • Manages the development and/or delivery of budget plans for own department.
  • Takes responsibility for implementing formal development frameworks for a substantial department, while formally/informally coaching and mentoring others throughout the organization.
  • Makes authoritative technical and/or professional recommendations that have a significant short-term and long-term impact on the business.
  • Manages a significant portion of the organization's financial management and/or control processes.
  • Manages output delivery for a substantial operational department by leading others.
  • Takes responsibility for implementing, coordinating and monitoring a performance management culture for a significant functional area of the organization
  • Participates in developing policies for areas of responsibility, creating underlying procedures and monitoring the implementation within the organization.
  • Undertake such other related duties as directed by the supervisor from time to time to meet the exigencies of the Corporation.

Qualifications

  • A recognized Degree in Finance, Accounting or Equivalent, and a Professional Qualification e.g. CA, ACCA or CIMA. BICA membership is required.

Experience

  • A minimum of 7 years working experience of which 4 years should be post professional qualification experience and a minimum 3 years at management level. 
  • Managerial experience of interpreting strategy and policy in order to set and deliver objectives within medium to long term time frames
