In its pursuit to become a Competitive Commercial Power Utility within the Region, Botswana Power Corporation invites applications from suitably qualified, highly energetic, dynamic, result oriented, innovative, and customer focused individuals, who believe they can be part of a great team that delivers power to Botswana to apply for the below listed position not later than 15th February 2025.
Main purpose of the position
To analyze security risks, define access privileges, control structures and resources, conduct vulnerability testing and develop response procedures. The role also develops and maintains business continuity and disaster recovery protocol.
Job Responsibilities
- Develops testing standards and procedures by following general directions from professional staff.
- Delivers specified outcomes and/or provides support services by working within established audit control systems.
- Identifies shortcomings in current compliance processes, systems and procedures; develops ad hoc solutions to immediate problems within assigned unit and/or discipline.
- Helps senior colleagues manage internal client and customer relationships by using client systems and protocols.
- Delivers own prescribed outcomes and/or provides support services by using the organization's safety, health and environment systems and protocols.
- Develops and/or delivers a plan and outcomes for an operational area with guidance from management.
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment and systems for emergency repairs, performs preventive maintenance inspections, assists specialists in setting up and testing new products/processes and installs complex systems with guidance.
- Identifies shortcomings and suggests improvements to existing processes, systems and procedures, then delivers a plan for an element of a change management program with guidance from a project/program manager.
- Helps management to foster external client and customer relationships by using client systems and protocols.
- Performs complex data processing using established procedures and testing new procedures to see if they might represent improvements over existing methods.
- Conducts research using primary data sources and selects relevant information to enable analysis of key themes and trends.
- Accesses required information for specific purposes using the data management system.
- Explores issues and/or needs to establish potential causes, related issues and barriers.
- Advises managers how to apply a wide variety of existing procedures and precedents.
- Analyzes specified problems and issues to find the best technical and/or professional solutions.
Qualifications
- A recognized University Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or Equivalent
- Industry related certification e.g. CCNP will be an added advantage.
Experience
- A minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in an ICT environment, 3 of which should have been in IT Network Security Analysis.
