In its pursuit to become a Competitive Commercial Power Utility within the Region, Botswana Power Corporation invites applications from suitably qualified, highly energetic, dynamic, result oriented, innovative, and customer focused individuals, who believe they can be part of a great team that delivers power to Botswana to apply for the below listed position not later than 27th December 2024.
Main purpose of the position
- To undertake tender adjudication functions in line with the Public Procurement Act, related Regulations, and other internal policies and procedures. The position is also responsible for the provision of first line of guidance on all procurement activities to User Departments.
Job Responsibilities
- To monitor compliance with provisions of the Public Procurement Act, Regulations, and best practice.
- Reviews tenders to guarantee value for money and to reduce wastage.
- Enforces adherence to Departmental Service Charter.
- Manages client relationships with guidance from senior colleagues.
- Monitors the Departmental costs in line with the budget and enforces compliance with the set financial controls.
- Implements Change management initiatives in the Department.
- Implements the BPC Performance Management system in line with the PMS Policy and Procedures.
- Promotes a high–performance culture within the department by supporting the employee engagement & motivation initiatives.
- Complies with safety principles in the Department and minimises injuries and the loss of productivity caused by safety incidents through reporting of Near Miss incidents.
- Undertakes any other related duties as directed by the supervisor from time to time to meet the exigencies of the Corporation.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a recognised Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Legal, Finance, Business or equivalent.
- Certified Professional from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ClPS) or equivalent is required.
- Class B Driver’s License is required.

- At least three (3) years post-qualification experience in a procurement environment.
