SECTION CHEMIST (X1) - MORUPULE
In its pursuit to become a Competitive Commercial Power Utility within the Region, Botswana Power Corporation invites applications from suitably qualified, highly energetic, dynamic, result oriented, innovative, and customer focused individuals, who believe they can be part of a great team that delivers power to Botswana to apply for the below listed position not later than 29th November 2024.
Main purpose of the position
Job Responsibilities
Supervises others to deliver prescribed operational outcomes while working within established systems.
Monitors the management of source of water including well fields to ensure sufficient availability of water used in the generation of power
Delivers prescribed outcomes from a designated part of the development/engineering program by selecting the best possible approaches available within established systems.
Delivers required outcomes by managing day-to-day relationships with contract service providers and working within an established contract management plan.
Populates periodic departmental reports including technical reports on chemical conditioning and environmental monitoring
Identifies and evaluates complex expertise-led solutions against a range of criteria to find the ones that best meet business needs.
Plans and coordinates testing and inspection of products and processes, then implements and monitors the effectiveness of corrective actions and/or continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
A recognised Degree in Chemistry or Equivalent.
Professional membership of a recognised Institution required.
Experience
At least three (3) years’ experience, of which (one) 1 year should have been in a supervisory position in power plant operations or related area.
