In its pursuit to become a Competitive Commercial Power Utility within the Region, Botswana Power Corporation invites applications from suitably qualified, highly energetic, dynamic, result oriented, innovative, and customer focused individuals, who believe they can be part of a great team that delivers power to Botswana to apply for the below listed position not later than 19 September 2025.
Main purpose of the position
- To implement, monitor and coordinate the day-to-day maintenance activities and repair of the security infrastructures in accordance with set specification standards and safety procedures to ensure optimum security protection for the Corporation's Personnel, Customers, Assets, Facilities and Intellectual Property and thus minimizing security risks.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborating with management to develop budgets for security-related projects (Capex and Opex), equipment purchases, and ongoing operational expenses.
- Assisting in the procurement process for security equipment and services, including obtaining quotes, evaluating vendors, and processing purchase orders
- Conducting thorough testing of integrated security systems to ensure they meet performance and reliability standards
- Performing quality assurance checks to verify that the systems operate as intended
- Carries out prescribed internal client management activities and provides support to others by following existing procedures.
- Integrating different security technologies and devices to work seamlessly together.
- Provides input into the development of procedures for an area within the organization, then monitors the implementation of those procedures.
- Designing integrated security solutions tailored to the specific needs and requirements of the organization.
- Undertake such other related duties as directed by the supervisor from time to time to meet the exigencies of the Corporation.
Qualifications
- A recognized Diploma in Electronics Engineering Telecommunication, Control & Instrumentation or equivalent.
- Certified Security Associate added advantage.
- Registration in the Engineering body.
Experience
- At least five (5) years relevant post qualification experience in a security environment.
